Walter Lee Little

October 3, 1944 - January 8, 2022

Walter Lee Little (aka. Tucker), 77 years old, of Rockdale, Texas, succumbed to cancer on Jan 8th, 2022 at Ascension Seton Hospital in Round Rock Texas. Walter was born on October 3, 1944 in Hearne, Texas to Rosita (Hamilton) Little and Roy Edward Little. He was the oldest of five siblings. At an early age the family moved to Lubbock Texas where he spent most of his childhood years. Walter’s sense of responsibility started when he quit high school after completing the 10th grade to help the family after his dad passed. Walter returned to the Rockdale community in 1980 and on December 15th, 1981 Walter was united in marriage to Marjorie (Johle) McCoy. Walter wore many hats during his lifetime. He was a baker, a mechanic, a butcher and for the last 25 years was as a carpenter & handy man, but was forced to give up the career he enjoyed due to his health. Walter loved football, his favorite NFL team was Cowboys and his favorite college team was Texas Tech Red Raiders or any team that beat the University Texas Longhorns. Despite his disability or health Walter’s love and care never waivered for his wife Marjorie. His biggest regret before he passed was not being able to keep his wife at home or continuing caring for her. Walter loved his family and sharing his childhood stories or passing on his knowledge every chance he could. Walter considered it a perfect day when he was able to start his mornings off with his coffee buddies at Lee’s Landing at his favorite table on the patio. Walter is survived by his wife Marjorie (Johle) Little of 41 years, daughter Evelyn and husband David Gonzales, Lorrie and husband Ricky Early, Dana Little and Suzanne Pittman, and son Jason and wife Sylvia Little, step sons Ron and wife Misty McCoy, John and wife Yvette McCoy, and step daughter Catherine McCoy. Grand Children Brandon Gonzales, Brittany White, Travis Bleeker, Kyle Bleeker, Wade Bleeker, Alexis Little, Caleb Little, Rachel Smith, Toni Pittman, Chasity Jensen, Emily Shelton, Stephen, Branson, Carson, Adam, and Evan McCoy, and over half dozen great grandchildren, also survived by brother Richard Little, and sister Helen and husband Larry Hollers. Walter was a loving father, husband and grandfather, great grandfather and friend to everyone. Walter was proceeded in death by his Mother Rosita (Hamilton) Little, and father Roy Edward Little, brothers David Little, Charles Little, sister Betty Jo Punkoney and his nephew Joseph Edward Little. A celebration of life service will be held at Philips and Luckey Funeral Home on Saturday January 22nd at 5:pm.
