Robert Grieg Cook

June 27, 1963 - May 25, 2022

Robert Grieg Cook was born on June 27, 1963 in Burlington, North Carolina to Willie Joe Cook and Carolyn Lewis Cook. His grandparents, Zelma & Henry Lewis Sr., ended up raising him and made sure that he attended church. Robert was baptized into the Baptist church. After graduating from high school, Robert attended community college and became a mechanic. As a mechanic he was Chrysler Certified and was named as one of the top 300 mechanics in the United States. He also worked on diesel engines. In his younger years, Robert enjoyed traveling, fishing, going to the beach, and riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He is remembered for his sense of humor, being friendly, and generous. Robert passed away the afternoon of Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at his home in Giddings after battling cancer for several years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie & Carolyn Cook and his grandparents, Zelma & Henry Lewis Sr. Robert is survived by his wife, Judy Cook of Giddings; son, Michael Cook of North Carolina; stepson, James & Liz Shank of Bastrop; sister, Susan Brown of North Carolina; two brothers, Joe & Robin Cook of Idaho and Mark & Sherry Cook of North Carolina; his dog, Saddie, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
