Funeral services for Rickie Iselt, 67 of Cypress, Texas are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 29, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Old Dime Box with Rev. Bernie Schey officiating. Burial will follow in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Dime Box. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 28, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday, March 29, 2021 from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The Iselt family will be present for visitation on Sunday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Rickie Iselt was born on December 20, 1953 in Houston, Texas to Gustav Alvin & Olga Magdalena (Beisert) Iselt. He was baptized on January 10, 1954 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Houston by Rev. Keiper. On July 21, 1973, Rickie was united in marriage to Sandra Jatzlau at Trinity Lutheran Church in Old Dime Box by Rev. H.O. Hartfield. Rickie was a carpenter and co-owned and operated RCI Improvements. He began sheet rocking at the age of 16, then went on to specialize in cabinet making for the next 30 years. Rickie enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to the lake, spending time in the country, and gardening. He loved to take Sandra dancing and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Rickie passed away the morning of Thursday, March 25, 2021 in Houston. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gustav & Olga Iselt; sister, Verneal Iselt; one brother-in-law; two sisters-in-law, and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gloria & Werner Jatzlau. Rickie is survived by his wife, Sandra Iselt of Cypress; two sons, Michael Iselt of Cypress, and Shannon Iselt and his wife, Melissa of Cypress; daughter, April Oropeza and her husband, Michael of Cypress; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren, and one brother, Eugene Iselt of Old Dime Box. Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Iselt, Chris Beisert, Clifton Kasper, Toby Iselt, Jonnie Beisert, and Michael Oropeza. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 3887 East Highway 21, Dime Box, Texas 77853, or Houston Methodist Continuing Care Hospital, P.O.
