Pamela Ann Markert

Memorial services for Pamela Ann Markert, 56 of Giddings, Texas are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Giddings with Rev. John Waak officiating. A private burial will follow at a later date in the Giddings City Cemetery. Pamela Ann Markert was born on October 13, 1965 in Houston, Texas to Edward Melvin and Ruby Amanda (Namken) Markert. Pam was baptized on November 7, 1965 and confirmed on April 8, 1979 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Giddings. She graduated from Giddings High School with the class of 1984. Pam worked for many years in the deli department at Brookshire Brothers in Giddings. Pam loved watching NCIS and Christmas Hallmark Movies and also enjoyed reading fictional novels. She had a love for animals as she cared for her many cats and dogs, taking in strays, and helped with cattle and other farm animals. In her free time, she enjoyed going on trips to Lake Charles, Louisiana, Seattle, Washington, and Cancun. Pam was resourceful and hardworking. She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, niece, and friend and loved spending time with them every chance she had. Pam passed away the evening of Friday, March 4, 2022 in Austin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Ruby Markert and one brother, James Markert. Pam is survived by her son, Aaron Markert and special friend Bianca Lopez of Giddings; brother, Jimmie Markert of Giddings, and an uncle, aunts, and cousins. Memorials may be made to the Martin Luther Lutheran Day School, Giddings Animal Shelter, or the charity of one’s choice.
