Odelsa Jean Hodges

Odelsa Jean Hodges, age 88 of Rockdale, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022 in the Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Round Rock. Odelsa was born March 4, 1934 in Dewey, Oklahoma to Eugene Wayne and Violet Mae (Tuck) Brown. On June 7, 1952, Odelsa and Herbert Elton Hodges were married in Clovis, New Mexico. She received her Master of Education from Eastern New Mexico University, and subsequently taught for the University as a professor for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Violet Brown; husband, Herbert Elton and a brother, Bob Brown. She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Rockdale. Surviving is her daughter, Catherine Jean Fuehring and son in law John Fuehring of Fort Worth; her son, Tommy Hodges and daughter in law Carla Hodges of Rockdale and two grandchildren, Melody Ann Hodges of Rockdale and Tracey Samantha Hodges of Tuscaloosa Alabama. The family will observe a private service at a later date.
