Mildred Weise

Mildred Weise, age 96 of Thorndale, passed away Sunday morning, May 29, 2022 in the Gracy Woods Nursing Home in Austin. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Graveside services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Salty Cemetery in Salty, Texas with Pastor Mark Porterfield officiating. Mildred was born December 13, 1925 in Thrall to Gus and Annie (Bachmeyer) Mager. On June 20, 1942, she and William “Bill” Weise were married in Thorndale. She has lived in Thorndale since 1954, having moved here from Luling. She is a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, a life member of the Eastern Star, Rockdale Chapter, and a member of Town and Country Club in Thorndale. Mildred enjoyed playing Bingo, making arts and crafts and fishing. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Annie Mager; her husband, Bill Weise on September 19, 1998; two step sons, O.C. Weise, Sr. and Charles Weise; two brothers, Clarence Mager and Gus Lee Mager; two sisters, Anna Mae Watts and Shirley Sutton and step daughter-in-law, Patsy Weise. Surviving is her son, Edward Weise and wife Peggy of Thorndale; her daughter, Cathy Sweazea and husband Dennis of Round Rock; step daughter-in-law, Etta Weise of Luling; six grandchildren, Shauntell Davidson and husband David, O.C. Weise, Jr., and wife Teresa, Fred Weise, John Weise, David Weise and Sandy Barnett and husband Coy; a number of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
