Funeral services for Melissa Lehman, 45 of Giddings, Texas, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings with Rev. Robert Tiner and Vicar Josh Hahn officiating. The service will be live streamed on the church’s Facebook page. Burial will follow in the Giddings City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022 from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The family will be present for visitation Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Melissa Dawn Lehmann was born on November 20, 1976 in Giddings, Texas. She was baptized on December 5, 1976 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin. On March 24, 1991, Melissa was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings by Rev. John Burger and Rev. Wilbern Michalk. Her confirmation verse was John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” She graduated from Giddings High School in 1995, attended Southern Careers Institute, and graduated with her Pharmacy Technician Certificate in 1997. Melissa worked for Brookshire Brothers and Pieratt’s Pharmacies. On September 17, 2005, she was married to Jimmie “Waldo” Lehmann at Immanuel Lutheran Church by Rev. John Davis Jr. She enjoyed swimming, watching TV, doing latch-hook, and working word searches. Melissa loved spending time with her family, especially her niece and nephews. Melissa passed away the afternoon of Thursday, January 27, 2022 in Austin, Texas. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Melvin & Dorothy Schautschick, Ruth Faske, and AC & Josie Flippo. Melissa is survived by her parents, Karen & Jerry Faske of Giddings; brother, Dustin & Whitney Faske of Giddings; nephews and niece, Max, Jolee, and John Faske of Giddings; grandfather, Elmer Faske of Giddings; two aunts, Cindy & Gary Becker of Giddings and Peggy Schautschick of Giddings; two uncles, Kenneth Faske of Giddings and Jeff & Dawn Faske of Giddings, and numerous cousins and extended family. Serving as pallbearers will be Garrick Faske, Brett Lamont, Austin Mattocks, Colton Matthijetz, Matt Neal, and Brandon Schautschick. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran School in Giddings, St. Paul Lutheran School in Serbin, or to the charity of one’s choice.
