Larry Patrick Dean was born on October 10, 1939 in Monroe, Louisiana to George Emmett and Dorothy Frances (Henry) Dean. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for four years. Larry received his bachelor's degree from Louisiana Tech and his master's degree from Lamar University. He married Lela Glasscock on August 20, 1963 in Marshall, Texas. To this union they were blessed with two girls, Sheila and Diana. Larry worked many years for Mobile Oil as an accountant. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and was always on the go. Walking, hiking, camping, and enjoying being in nature were some of his favorite things to do. Larry also looked forward to taking trips to state parks and going to different countries. He loved his family and cherished spending time with them. Larry passed away the morning of Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at his home in Lexington. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Dorothy Dean. Larry is survived by his wife, Lela Dean of Lexington; two daughters, Sheila Lindsay of The Woodlands and Diana & Mark Wilkinson of Cedar Creek; three grandchildren, Madison & J.D. Ryan of Montgomery, Monica Lindsay of Oregon, and Annika Wilkinson of Cedar Creek; two brothers, Jerry & Wanda Dean of Louisiana and Robin & JoAnn Dean of Oklahoma, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Memorials may be made to a veteran’s organization of one’s choice.
