Funeral services for Kenneth Clemons, 74 of Austin, Texas, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Bateman Memorial Center in Giddings. Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery near Giddings, Texas. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The family will be present for visitation Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Kenneth Michael Clemons was born into this world on April 4, 1948 in Dime Box, Texas, the son of Claude Bonner and Mary Lee Clemons. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at Sandy Point AME. Kenny Mike worked many years pouring concrete in the central Texas area. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and raising greyhounds. He was known for his barbeque, and many local churches would ask him to cook for their events. His food was better than any restaurant. Kenny Mike enjoyed watching tv as long as it was playing sports, especially the UT Longhorns or the New England Patriots. Kenny Mike entered the embrace of Jesus the morning of Wednesday, April 20, 2022 in Austin. Awaiting to welcome him to his heavenly reward were his parents, Claude Bonner and Mary Lee Clemons; son, Kenneth Wayne Clemons; four siblings, Don Lacy, Larry Flint, Enola Flint, and Shirley Swist, and his nephew, Reggie Swist. Kenneth leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memories four children, Polly & Roy Fletcher of Dime Box, Kenneth Michael & Nasheena Parker of Dime Box, Eric & Jennifer Clemons of Lincoln, and Quincy Johnson of Elgin; twelve grandchildren, Erika Clemons, Denise & Fred Garcia, Quincy Clemons, Keanna Clemons, Keneisha Clemons, Andrew Knox, Andrea Knox, Kennedy Knox, Courtney Taylor, Eric Clemons Jr., Courtney Clemons, and Kolbie Clemons; a host of great grandchildren; five siblings, Helen, Rubie, Rodney, Mary Ann, and Jean, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. Serving as casket bearers will be Kolbie Clemons, Alonzo Shepherd, Ray Shepherd, Brandon Moore, Roy Fletcher, and Richard Smith. Honorary bearers will be Clarence Flint, Alfred Flint, Larry Flint Jr., Marvin Flint, Rodney Flint, and Ty Swist. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the charity of one’s choice.
