Graveside services for Jimmy Muse, 87 of Paige, Texas are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 7, 2022 at Ridgway Cemetery with Pastor Jack Gilmore officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgway Cemetery. Jimmy Muse was born on March 31, 1934 in Fort Worth, Texas to Jimmie and Mildred (Dickens) Muse. He joined the military after high school, serving in the United States Navy for some time. Jimmy worked as a technician for the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) for many years. Jimmy was an avid Longhorn lover and was a part of both the Texas Longhorn Breeders Association and the Chisholm Trail Texas Longhorn Association. He was also president of the Southwest Motorman’s Association from 1984 – 1985. In Jimmy’s spare time he enjoyed ranching, showing and breeding longhorn cattle, which he did for 27 years, feeding wildlife, gardening, listening to country music, and spending time with his family and neighbors. Jimmy passed away the evening of Thursday, February 3, 2022 at New Haven Assisted Living and Memory Care in Bastrop, Texas. He is preceded in death by his wife, Joann Muse; son, John Muse; parents, Jimmie and Mildred Muse, and brother, Frank Muse. Jimmy is survived by his son, Steve and Becky Muse of Austin; daughter, Cogi Muse of Austin; grandson, Cory Muse of Austin; brother-in-law, David Riffe of Paige; sister-in-law, Johnnie and Chris Cobb of Paige; two nieces and three nephews. Memorials may be made to Texas Parks and Wildlife or the charity of one’s choice.
