Jerry Glen Myers

Jerry Glen Myers Sr. was born to the late Bobby Ray Myers Sr and Eddie Mae Maloy Myers in Rockdale, Texas on October 21, 1962. He lived in Milano, Texas. He graduated from Milano High School in May of 1981. He married Regina L. Dunn and to this union two children were born. He accepted Christ at an early age at Goodwill Baptist Church in Milano, Texas. He was proceeded in death by his father Bobby Ray Myers Sr., and his mother Eddie Mae Maloy Myers; a brother Bobby Ray Myers Jr.; a sister Sarah Ann Myers -Worrell; maternal grandparents Eddie Maloy and Minnie Mack- Maloy; paternal grandparents Eugene Myers and Alder Clay Myers. He worked for GATX in Hearne, Texas for 14 years. Prior to working for GATX. He worked for the city of Bryan Texas Waste management, and for over 10 years as a US Federal Task Force Officer, and for various oil companies in the area. He was also a cattle farmer, and a true “cowboy” at heart. He loved his horses, participating in rodeos and trail rides. He loved spending time on the farm. He was always busy. His favorite phrase, if he saw you seating around, “stop burning daylight, get up and do something, make your life and your day productive”. Glen was deeply loved by his family and friends. He had a smile that would light up a room. He had a tough exterior but a kind heart. There was nothing that he wouldn’t do for you. He loved his kids, and grandkids more than they ever knew. Every time he mentioned his grandkids his face would light up. He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter Kendra L. Myers of Hutto, Texas and a son Jerry Glen Myers Jr. of Rockdale, Texas, and 4 grandchildren; Darin Summer, Doryon Peacock Jr., Jazmin Vasser, Shelby Myers, and two brothers; Larry (Kathleen)Myers, and Kenneth Earl Myers of Milano, Texas, two sisters; Virginia (Roland) Williams, and Vickie (James) Griffin of Temple, Texas, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts, and friends. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Burial will be in Goodwill Cemetery in Milano.
