Funeral services for Harold Medack, 82 of Lexington, Texas are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Christ Lutheran Church in Loebau, Texas with Rev. Garrett Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 21, 2022 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The family will be present for visitation Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Harold Glenn Medack was born on September 17, 1939 in Warda, Texas to Herbert and Elenora (Beisert) Medack. On February 14, 1963, he married Geneva Schulze at Christ Lutheran Church in Loebau. He loved being in the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, and feeding the birds around his home. Harold also enjoyed playing baseball and played the positions of pitcher and catcher for the Lincoln, and Warda teams. He was active in the churches he was a member of and served on the usher and elder teams at Hope Lutheran Church in Dallas and at Christ Lutheran Church in Loebau. Harold passed away the morning of Tuesday, February 15, 2022 in Canton, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert & Elenora Medack; wife, Geneva Medack; two children, Kevin Medack and Melissa Medack, and two siblings, Leon Medack and Junelle Tisdel. Harold is survived by his two sons, Ricky & Donna Medack of Canton and Harold Jr. & Secrit Medack of Dallas; four grandchildren, Ty Medack of Dallas, DeAnna & David Coker of New York, Dawn Jones & Dustin Mantell of Sanger, and Charlisa Medack of Tennessee; three great grandchildren, Madison Hanson of Sanger, Dylan Mantell of Sanger, and Avery Mantell of Sanger; thirteen siblings, Joyce Greene of Lexington, Doris Pearson of Bertram, Alice & Steve Franklin of Bellville, Vernon Medack of Giddings, William “Cotton” & Suzanna Medack of Loebau, Diane & Wayne Walch of Fedor, Ida Mosley of Fedor, Kathy & George Muzny of Deanville, Marie & Lee Lively of Giddings, Donnie & Tina Medack of Lexington, Peggy Medack & Gary Spivey of Giddings, Joseph & Sandra Medack of Giddings, and Brenda & Dominic Labay of Cameron, and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Ty Medack, Kevin Medack, Chris Medack, Len Medack, Anthony Muzny, and Matthew Stamport. Memorials may be made to the Christ Lutheran Church or the charity of one’s choice.
