Gary Gene Schautschick Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Funeral services for Gary Schautschick, 63 of Serbin, Texas, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2022 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin with Rev. John Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, July 22, 2022 from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The family will be present for visitation Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Gary Gene Schautschick was born on March 2, 1959 in Giddings, Texas to Albert Eldor Schautschick and Evelyn Dorine (Schubert) Schautschick. He was baptized on March 15, 1959 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin by Rev. Arthur Arndt and confirmed on April 7, 1974 also at St. Paul Lutheran Church by Rev. Arthur Graf. Gary attended St. Paul Lutheran School in Serbin and graduated from Giddings High School. He was united in marriage to Keeley Ann Ellis at Hope Lutheran Church in Friendswood on July 26, 1999 by Rev. Ralph W. Hobratschk. Gary worked in the oil industry most of his life. He went on to start TexFlow, which he owned and operated for numerous years before retiring. Gary enjoyed being in nature where he would hunt, fish, and take care of wild animals. He loved riding his tractor, farming, and playing guitar with the band, Country Expressions. Most importantly, Gary loved spending time with his family and friends. Gary passed away the afternoon of Tuesday, July 19, 2022 with his family by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Evelyn Schautschick; his son-in-law, David Richardson, and his brother-in-law, James Wenke. Gary is survived by wife, Keeley Schautschick of Serbin; his five children, Antoinette Richardson-Winkles and husband, Bryan of Northrup, Yvonne Labay and husband, Cody of Magnolia, Cassandra Balderas and husband, Stephen of Hutto, Miranda Melchor and husband, Ernest of Pearland, and Eric Kreger and fiance’, Candice Fisher of Danbury; fourteen grandchildren, Dylan Lambert of Northrup, Elizabeth Richardson of Northrup, Tye Labay of Magnolia, Tayler Labay of Magnolia, Efrain Brandt of Hutto, Dorian Brandt of Hutto, Lana Brandt of Hutto, Jared Brown of Pearland, Collin Melchor of Pearland, Eli Melchor of Pearland, Brianna Melchor of Pearland, Connor Kreger of Danbury, Callie Kreger of Danbury, and Caylee Kreger of Danbury; two brothers, Ronald Schautschick and wife, Nancy of Manheim and Steven Schautschick and wife, Dorothy of Serbin; one sister, Bonnie Wenke of Serbin, and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Marshall Schautschick, Randolph Schautschick, Ryan Sweeney, Derek Jordan, Ernest Melchor, and Bradly Schautschick. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Faith Lutheran High School, or to the charity of one’s choice.
