Funeral services for Fritz Kieschnick, 57 of Lincoln, Texas, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 7, 2022 at St. John Lutheran Church in Lincoln with Rev. Dale Bohm officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The family will be present for visitation Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Fritz Kieschnick was born on January 7, 1964 in Giddings, Texas, the son of George and Edna (Winkler) Kieschnick. He was baptized on January 16, 1964 and confirmed on March 19, 1978. His confirmation verse was Psalm 37:5, “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.” Fritz graduated from Giddings High School in 1982. During high school, he was a member of the band and held several offices. After high school, he worked at Kieschnick Feed, Lincoln Fertilizer, and was currently working at Lee County Pct #3 as a truck driver. During this time he also raised peanuts with his dad and remained lifelong friends with the owners of Quality Peanut Warehouse and held a special place in his heart for them. On March 11, 1988, Fritz was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Gutierrez at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Giddings, Texas. Fritz was a member of the Fedor Volunteer Fire Deparment, was an honorary member of the Lincoln Volunteer Fire Department, and volunteered with the Lee County 4H. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Lincoln where he served as an elder and was on the board of education. Fritz was involved with many events in the community including youth groups, band boosters, civic clubs, and many more. Outside of the different organizations that he helped with, Fritz was an amazing cook and loved to make sausage and catered with FKM Catering. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, listening to Polka music and watching the Mollie B. Polka Party, joining the morning coffee groups, and working on the Flying Z Ranch. He was always on the go. Fritz loved his family and friends and would make sure they had something to eat and were always taken care of. Fritz passed away suddenly the evening of January 1, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bryan, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Edna Kieschnick; grandparents, Herman and Martha Kieschnick and Ludwig and Ottilie Winkler; brother-in-law, Willie Walther; granddaughter, Baby K, and his nephew, Jay Pronk. Fritz is survived by his wife, Mary Kieschnick of Lincoln; his son, Justin Kieschnick and fiancée Amber Koontz of Loebau; two daughters, Julia Kieschnick of Lincoln and Jenna Rae Kieschnick and fiancé Cristopher Orocio of Giddings; two grandchildren, Keagan Kieschnick of Lincoln and Emma Dangler of Loebau; five siblings, Rev. Clyde and Ellen Kieschnick of Abilene, Michael and Janet Kieschnick of Lincoln, Jennifer Walther of Lincoln, Rueben “Johnny” and Brenda Kieschnick of Lincoln, and Lynette and Calvin Patschke of Lincoln; his mother-in-law, Mary Gutierrez of Giddings, and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, extended family, and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Kieschnick, Jeremey Kieschnick, Jason Kieschnick, Brent Haas, Cade Patschke, Shane Urban, Dustin Keith, Josh Posas, and Tyler Matthijetz. Honorary pallbearers are Jon Walther, Kevin Nusbaum, Karl Thiele, Mark Winkler, Kenny Urban, Mike Maass, Dale Weiser, Joe Stevens, Spencer Schneider, Robert Zoch, Kenny Mingus, Jeff Winkler, Brandon Schautschick, Tim Schneider, and all of the FKM Crew. Memorials may be made and designated for an audio/visual system for the Family Life Center in memory of Fritz Kieschnick, the Tuition Assistance Fund at St. John Lutheran Church in Lincoln, or to the charity of one’s choice.
