David Laake

A private family memorial for David Lee Laake, 74 of Paige, Texas will be held at a later date. David Lee Laake was born on February 4, 1948 in Houston, Texas to Alfred Albert and Lydia Katherine (Raschke) Laake. David graduated from Sam Houston high school and went on to serve in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. After returning home from the war, David worked with the Houston Fire Department for several years. He began his next venture as a business owner working in the marketing industry for many years. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed playing music on drums, the keyboard, or even acoustic guitars. David was a true renaissance man who enjoyed wood working and artwork. He was a man that would help anyone but always kept his family first in his life. David passed away the morning of Saturday, March 5, 2022 at his home in Paige. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Lydia Laake, and one brother, Fred Laake. David is survived by his three daughters, Angela Laake of Paige, Jennifer and Dr. John Moon of McKinney, and Kelly and Robert Emerson of Broaddus; six grandchildren, Makenzie Moon of McKinney, Nathan Moon of McKinney, Chloe Moon of McKinney, Mary “Jax” Pinkard of Paige, Zachery Emerson and fiancée Ocean Henley of Etoile, and Gabi and Corey Gehrts of Woodville; two great-grandchildren, Hallie Emerson of Broaddus, Maelynn Gehrts of Woodville and one brother, James Laake of Houston. Memorials may be made to the Paige Volunteer Fire Department or the charity of one’s choice.
