Charles Cilny, Jr, 83, of Caldwell, Texas was carried by Angels to be with our Lord on Thursday, August 19, 2021. A public visitation will be held on Friday August 27th from 3:00 – 5:00 PM followed by a Celebration of Life in the Chapel of Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Houston, Texas on Monday, August 30, 2021. Charles was born to Charles and Frances Ann (Malik) Cilny on December 9, 1937 in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Cy-Fair Sr. High School and married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Peoples. They were happily married 64 years. He was a Sergeant in the Army where he learned and loved hand operated radios. He loved being able to talk with people all over the world. Charles had many talents, his profession was a Cryogenic specialist originally with Cameron Iron works before opening C & J Machine with his father, Charlie and later with his brother, Gene. He also enjoyed taking long naps, reading the “funny pages” and spending time with family. He cared for his community as a Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Fighter/EMS and later as District Chief where he retired and moved to Caldwell, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents. Charles is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce Cilny; daughters Elinor and husband Jerry England of Sugar Land, TX; Katharine L. Cilny of Caldwell, Texas; sons, Charles A. Cilny, III of California; Matthiew James, Sr. and his wife, Lisa Cilny of Cypress, Texas; his brother, Eugene Cilny and wife Ginger of Conroe, Texas as well as his sister Virginia Cilny-Swick of Florida. He is also survived by five grandsons, two granddaughters and one great-grand daughter, as well as his very best friend, his dog, Teddy Bear. He will be deeply missed by his family and dear friends.
