Graveside services for Bobbie Myrle Smith, 91 of Magnolia, Texas are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2022 in the Giddings City Cemetery with Minister, John Helbig, officiating. Bobbie Myrle Hamer Daigle Smith was born on April 2, 1931 in El Paso, Texas to Clinton Paul Hamer and Georgia Elizabeth (Ware) Hamer. She was baptized in the 1940’s and her favorite verse was 1 Corinthians 13:13 “And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” On January 5, 1957 she was united in marriage to Warren Harding Smith in Houston, TX. She was blessed with two children, Robert Paul Daigle and Maureen Smith. Bobbie was an active member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas where she served on the Alamo Committee and created the “Fall at the Alamo” event. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Magna Charta, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Daughters of American Colonist, Daughters of 1812, Colonial Dames XVIII Century, Daughters of San Jacinto, and Daughters of the Indian Wars. Bobbie enjoyed reading, Artex painting, and genealogy. She was an avid supporter of Glynn Langston and his ministry Insight International Braille Outreach Worldwide. Bobbie helped any way she could to support the efforts to provide bibles to the blind. Most importantly Bobbie was a faithful member of Longmire Church of Christ and enjoyed teaching Ladies’ Bible Class. Her grandchildren were the love of her life. Bobbie passed away the afternoon of Friday, April 8, 2022 in Spring, Texas, surrounded by loved ones. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clinton and Georgia Hamer, and husband, Warren Smith. Bobbie is survived by her son, Robert Paul Daigle of New York; daughter, Maureen & John Chegin of Magnolia; grandson, Clint Chegin of Austin; granddaughter, Chelsea & Mark Juengling of Magnolia; two sisters, Joan Ramsey of Lufkin and Linda & Bob Stalcup of Waxahachie, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
