Alvin John Wilganowski

Alvin John Wilganowski, age 79 of Rockdale, formerly of Bremond, passed away Sunday night, May 15, 2022 at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2022 in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bremond with Father Celso Yu of St. Mary’s Catholic Church officiating. Visitation will also be Friday from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Alvin was born near Bremond on October 8, 1942 to Joseph Ike and Mary Christine (Wachel) Wilganowski. He graduated from Bremond High School with the Class of 1960. In 1965, he and Janis Flanagan were married in Bremond. He worked with Alcoa in Rockdale 32 years and was in the metal service department. He would fish and garden in his younger years and enjoyed traveling to the Rocky Mountains and Canada. He is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale. He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Ike in 1963 and his mother, Mary in 2000; twin siblings, Marion and Lee in 1940; and brothers, Floyd in 2012 and Ernest in 2015. Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Janis Wilganowski of Rockdale; daughters, Angie Wilganowski of Montgomery and Ashlie Blair of Montgomery; two grandchildren, Jordyn and Brooks Blair and his sister, Bernadine Kitchen of Grand Prairie.
