Adele Mildred Schulze Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Funeral services for Adele Schulze, 89 of Serbin, Texas, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 3, 2022 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin with Rev. John Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 2, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday, January 3, 2022 from 7:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The family will be present for visitation Sunday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Adele Mildred (Vogel) Schulze was born on April 22, 1932 to August and Hulda (Bigon) Vogel in Lee County, Texas, the youngest of 8 children. She was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin on April 24, 1932 by Pastor Herman Schmidt. On March 25, 1945, she confirmed her faith at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin also by Pastor Herman Schmidt. Her confirmation verse was Psalm 143:10, “Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness”. On January 12, 1952, she married Elmo Schulze at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Arthur Arndt officiating. This marriage was blessed with three children, Lynette, Diann, and Daryl. Adele passed away early in the morning on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at her home. She graduated from St. Paul Lutheran School in Serbin. She worked beside her husband on the farm with crops and livestock. She later worked over 22 years for Invader Boat Company in Giddings. After retiring, she babysat her youngest grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. She enjoyed the outdoors and always had a large garden. She stayed busy, and in her later years she continued to accompany her husband as they fed the cattle or completed work around the place. She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Hulda Vogel; her brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Ruby Vogel; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Laura and Herbert Krause, Irene and Gus Zoch, Hermine and Erwin Andres, Lorine and Albert Zoch, Ruth and Clarence Schulze, and an infant sister, Gladys Vogel. She is survived by her husband, Elmo Schulze of Serbin; son, Daryl Schulze and wife Patricia of Serbin; daughters, Diann Pietsch and husband Dennis of Giddings and Lynette Wiederhold and husband Kenneth of Serbin. Her grandchildren include Jan Wiederhold of Houston, Ryan Pietsch of Frisco, Troy Wiederhold and wife Chelsea of Serbin, Zachary Pietsch of Frisco, Amber Baas and husband Andrew of Atlanta, Georgia and Eric Schulze of Serbin. Great-grandchildren include Levi Wiederhold and Travis Wiederhold of Serbin. Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Pietsch, Troy Wiederhold, Zachary Pietsch, Eric Schulze, Andrew Baas, and Delbert Zoch. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to the St. Paul Lutheran Church, General Fund, 1572 CR 211, Giddings, Texas 78942, or to the charity of your choice.
