Services for Jessie Baxter Allen will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Alan Gardenhire officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Jessie was born March 28, 1913 in Huntsville, Texas and was the daughter of Dave Edward & Annie Cecelia (McKeen) Baxter. At age 6 she and her family moved to Rockdale and have lived in Rockdale and the Rockdale area for the past 94 years. She worked many years in restaurants as a waitress in Rockdale and Cameron at such places as A-1 Café, Singers Grill and the Texan. She attended school in Hicks and Black Jack. During World War II she served in the Salvation Army in McAllen, Texas. She and Roy Baggerly were married on December 8, 1928. After his death she married Ray Allen on July 13, 1963 who also preceded her in death. She attended Rockdale Christian Fellowship Church.

Jessie passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at her daughter's home near Milano. She reached the age of 100 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands; Roy D. Baggerly and Ray Allen. Sons; Melvin Baggerly and Royce Baggerly. 6 brothers; James Lee, Tommie, Mike, Woodrow, Dave and Douglas Baxter. 4 sisters; Katie Baxter, Ruby Langford, Celia Sellers, and E. D. Rogers.

Her surviving family are 2 daughters; Lula A. Lukens of Moody and Jessie Louise Morgan of Milano. 2 sons; Roy Lee Baggerly of Gause and Joe N. Baggerly of Bryan. Also 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and a number of great-great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers for Mrs. Allen are Clayton English, Cameron English, Amador Baggerly, David Baggerly, Joe Baggerly, Jr., Lee Morgan, Ty Morgan, Roy D. Baggerly.
